Glamour magazine has declared that “Kermit Green is the Runway Trend which Can’t be Ignored.” Who are we to challenge this colour notion? The fact that green is one of those colours that is underrated and looks good on red heads, brunettes and blondes makes it that much easier to take this all in.
It’s no surprise that green has become a huge trend in the last couple of seasons, given the status of our environment and the need to seek some calm and serenity in this colour of nature, in the midst of a stressful chaotic urban life.
Green symbolizes nature, balance, serenity and is the most common colour after blue. It is also the colour of the heart chakra which is located at the centre of the chest, and it bridges the gap between the physical and spiritual worlds. Green is a colour that allows a person to feel more, love meow and be more empathetic.
So then what’s not to love about green and why don’t we see it in fashion as much as blue? It is a rich beautiful colour and it can be paired with so many fun colours, I don’t know why we are so shy about wearing it.
Move over black because green is just as easy to mix and match with what’s in your closet, and it elevates your style instantly and makes people think you know what you’re doing on the style front, even if you don’t.
The easiest way to wear green is of course green on green. A great green suit exudes just as much power as black, yet it’s a tad more exciting, interesting and slaying!
White or black/grey is the second easiest way of wearing green. While white makes it pop, black is a little more subtle and in both cases, it looks stunning.
Bet you never thought of wearing green with pink, orange, yellow, cognac, red or blue. Thanks to designer such as Gucci and D&D we never would have thought of exploring green with these beautiful colours. Take a peek at what green can do for you when paired with out of the box colours. Granted, if you are afraid of moving out of the black box sticking to simply green may be a big enough step for you. If you are confidant enough with your fashion and willing to take it up a notch then look at what fun you can have with green!
