Since I breathlessly watched the parade of models at Fendi, walking down the runway in thigh high red leather boots and matching red vibrant outfits, I knew red was the new black. This fall every designer had their models strutting down the catwalk in red creations. I personally couldn’t be more thrilled. I have had an obsession with red since I was a teenager. My place is black, white and red! I have surrounded myself with red since I can remember loving fashion. I remember proudly wearing a red leather jacket walking to school in -40 degree temperatures in the Montreal winter tundra. My leather jacket was stiff from the cold and I developed bronchitis, but I never stopped wearing it. Fast forward to fashion lawyer Pina and I now get a high from wearing red to the office.
Red is the feeling colour. No other colour is so closely associated with one’s mood. Can you imagine feeling like you want to isolate yourself from the world and showing up in red? Red is that colour you want to wear when you are feeling bold and fierce. If you’re still a little afraid of red, start with a red lipstick and graduate to a red outfit.
If you think you can’t wear it because it doesn’t work with your skin tone, let me tell you are wrong baby. Anyone can wear red. Even red heads. There are different shades of red so be sure to wear the shade that works best for you, but don’t ever think you can’t wear it! Go Red or Go Home!
At least we have red to look forward to as the weather turns cold…sigh…Stay Fabulous My Lovelies! xoxo
So this picture above is my best version of the real and off runway and cheapo way to rock red. Shades from www.forever21.com
Now here’s some inspiration that you can knock off and still look runway ready.
