Are eye lash extensions for you? After taking a break for 2 years, I decided to go back to getting eye lash extensions. If the spring is any indication of what the summer will be like, it’s looking like it’s going to be nothing but rain. This means I have no motivation for a new summer 2017 wardrobe, and since I can reinvent all of last year’s wardrobe by switching them out with my 50 chokers, I might as well splurge on my lashes!
That’s right, eye lashes! After eyebrows, lashes are the next best thing to completing your beauty regime. Why did I take a break and why am I doing it again? Well when you get eye lash extensions, you have to give your lashes a break after about 3 or 4 months. I first had them done over 2 years ago and I absolutely loved it. I loved the look and most of all I loved the fact that I didn’t have to spend an extra 5 to 10 minutes applying my mascara. Let’s face it, for me, mascara always takes the most time of my make up routine. I like a good eye so I slather on that mascara until I am running late for work. One coat, two coat, three coat and 10! You actually can’t apply mascara to your eye lash extensions so it makes your routine that much faster.
Secondly, if you wear contacts like me, then you know how a new tube of mascara can get all over your contacts and before you know it, there you are walking downtown, driving your car or sitting in a meeting and all of a sudden you see nothing but blurriness. Thank God I can drive to work with my eyes closed as there were a few times where I just prayed for God to guide me safely to work.
Thirdly, no mascara in the world can give you the same long lengthy curl and length. I have tried every mascara under the sun, and I realize that the technology has come a long way. There are even many drugstore brands these days that work wonders for $10 dollars. However they don’t come close to achieving that lash extensions look.
Lash extensions are applied as a full set the first time, and then you get them refilled every 3 weeks or so. Of course you need to use oil free make up remover and you must be diligent when removing your make up, or taking a shower. Surgical glue is used to apply them.
Make sure you go to a trusted person. I get mine done from an excellent girl and I wouldn’t trust anyone else. The full set application takes about 3 hours and the good news is that you get to sleep all through it since your eyes are covered, and yes you are helpless.
The end result is fabulous and no doubt you will enjoy the look. That’s me with NO MAKEUP in that pic…only eyelashes! Let me know if you have any questions about eye lash extensions. Eye lash bars have sprouted all over the city and there is no doubt you can find one near you. Message me here with any specific questions and stay eyelash fabulous my lovelies! xoxo
