PIGALLE 5 inches SO KATE 5 inches
So you decided you are going to splurge on a pair of louboutins because…well you deserve them. If it’s your first pair you may be wondering which stiletto is right for you? Hence the very important debate of Pigalle vs. So Kate becomes very important because when you are spending this much money on a pair of shoes, you want to get it right.
I can give you the facts and I can tell you what others have said, but at the end of the day, I can only give you my two cents based on my personal experience.
Here are the hard core facts: The Pigalle is known as the classic pump and the So Kate was introduced in 2013. Both are nearly impossible to find in stores as they are always sold out. I spent the last 2 years searching for the So Kate, until I found them by pure chance this past weekend. The woman at the store told me they received them 1 week ago and they had 2 pairs left by the end of the week. I purchased mine at Holt Renfrew, a luxury brand retailer in downtown Toronto. So if you want them and you find them – don’t ask yourself any questions – just buy them immediately.
The Pigalle has a thicker stiletto heel than the So Kate and the arch on the Pigalle is less steep. While they both have toe cleavage, the Pigalle has more cleavage. I think it’s a little too much (see pic below) and I prefer the So Kate, as the toe is more pointed and it is what I believe to be, sexier. Too much toe cleavage looks kind of odd frankly.
I recently purchased the So Kate ( see my next blog post) but I tried on both and I felt the Pigalle was more comfortable but I prefer the look of the So Kate. I have been doing my research on these 2 shoes for almost 2 years and I have read that most women find the So Kate to be more comfortable but I beg to differ. I still opted for the So Kate because I am a daily stiletto wearer and I have an office desk so I am not walking around in them all day long and I simply don’t do flats. If you can’t manage to walk gracefully in 5 inch heels, fret not. The Pigalle is available in shorter heels, but the So Kate is not. So at least you have some options.
The price is the same. They were $725.oo CDN as this was the price on the box, but the price actually went up to $745.00 CDN.
So lovlies, whichever one you choose, I recommend you try them on first (which you can’t do if you buy them on line), I can guarantee you will love and adore them.
This is a shoe that is a MUST HAVE for any fashion loving sweetie.
