What can you say about an individual with such talent and no ego? It doesn’t happen very often that these 2 words are even found in the same sentence. Yes, he dressed many celebs, first ladies and the most beautiful brides but he also was a philanthropist and donated anonymously. Besides his ability to make women feel like women – he was an amazing human being and I believe this is why the world is feeling such sadness.
His dresses were dreamy, beautiful and transported you to a magical fashion world, rich with vibrant hues.
Sarah Jessica Parket wore many of his gowns. In fact she could have been considered his muse. Carrie Bradshaw loved Oscar too. My all time favourite Oscar gown was the one Carrie wore in the last espisode of Sex & the City, where she was ditched by her lover and he came home to find her in bed, wrapped up in that stunning gown, with layer upon layer of tulle enveloping her ike a mille feuille. This iconic gown will be forever etched in my mind.
Of course it was only fitting that SJP wore Oscar to the opening of Sex & the City – the movie….and I still recall how my heart skipped a beat when I saw her in that green one shoulder dress…..and how I dreamt of wearing that same dress. These fashion moments will stay with me forever. Thanks you Oscar. These are some of my very favourite Oscar designs and famous and eloquent quotes.
